What Biden said in Saudi Arabia about the Khashoggi case

US President Joe Biden says he can’t be sure another killing like Jamal Khashoggi won’t happen again. “What a silly question,” Biden said when asked by a reporter if he could be sure that a crime like the journalist’s murder would not be repeated. “How can I be sure of any of that? I just made it clear that if anything like that happens again, you’ll get that answer and more.” Pressed to respond to Khashoggi’s fiancée, who said the blood of Mohammed bin Salman’s next victim would be on Biden’s hands, the president expressed little regret about holding Friday’s meeting. “I’m sorry she feels that way. I was blunt then. I am now,” he said. The footage of the meetings in this video was selected and provided by the Saudi Arabian government, which did not allow the presence of US media during those times.
